Accidents happen, and since birds are so small compared to us, accidents often lead to death.

I commend you for letting me know so that others can learn. Maybe your baby’s passing will save another baby. 

Actually, I almost sat on Cody before when he was on a pile of blankey on the couch, being all cozy, and I went to clean and forgot.
I now make a huge announcement when there’s a bird on the couch and sometimes (it should be all the time really) I go the extra distance and put this strip of CAUTION tape down. Cody in particular goes on the armrest if I have to step away for a second.

When I shut the door of the bird room, since Piko is clingy and flighted, I have to make extra sure to know where she is when I’m closing the door. When you have birds in your home, it’s reasonable to be paranoid.

My friend let her birds flutter around, she ended up stepping on her lovebird. After vetting, stress, heartbreak, she actually is doing ok.
